I wrote this poem for a friend of a friend. She was involved in a horrible car accident and has been on the road to recovery since. I hope that those who read this poem will keep her in their thoughts and prayers.

Courage Within

When a cruel twist of fate
Turns your life around
Reach inside your heart
An inner strength is found

Though the pain is real
Just as real as your fears
Both of them will fade in time
Along with your many tears

Family and friends surround you
With their hope and love
A comfort to your broken spirit
A gift from God above

Accept the love that they give
Add their courage to your own
Walk hand in hand with faith
Find a power you've never known

Take one small step at a time
Let that power within you grow
Tomorrow looks brighter than today
The courage within will make it so
