It is so difficult to summarize
All of the history that we share
Looking back it feels as though
Your presence was always there

I guess the beginning for "us"
Was when we met and became good friends
Before long our feelings changed
And Cupid opened up his hands

He set love free from those hands
And it entered our hearts and souls
Although it took us some time to see
That God had changed our roles

Since that time we have grown up together
And faced life's trials as one
In reflection of all we have been through
It's amazing how far we've come

We created a good life together
For each other as well as our son
And despite the many rough times
We set our goals and got them done

We have very different personalities
Which gives our life a positive stability
Because we balance each other out
And I believe this influenced our maturity

On the other hand, we are very close
And at time it's frightening how alike we are
And though our daily lives may keep us apart
Thoughts of each other are never far

Together we have explored new experiences
And shared the laughter, adventure and pain
We have a whole future ahead of us
And I look forward to many more years of the same

I have so much more I want to say
But to express everything is an impossible task
Let what I have said be my way of showing
How important you are; that is all I ask

You are my love and my soul mate
As well as my very best friend
I believe that our love will always remain true
Until time comes to an end
