Home In Our Hearts

Keep in mind the brave heroes
Who serve our proud country
Duty keeps them from home
Longing for friends and family

Especially during the Holidays
A time for creating memories
Of cherished family gatherings
Egg nog and Christmas trees

As they celebrate this time
In hostile countries far away
Without the familiar comforts
Of a traditional Christmas Day

Let’s not take for granted
The precious gift they give
Their sacrifice has provided
The freedom in which we live

Find a way to let them know
That this Holiday spent apart
Is only in a physical sense
They are at home in our hearts
