Almost a year has passed by
The initial shock fades away
But the world will never forget
The terrible events of that day

The site where the towers stood
Has been cleared of all debris
But the spirit of our free country
Still stands there for all to see

Poems and songs are written
By many people everywhere
In memory of those we lost
Tributes made with loving care

So many lessons were learned
To cherish each and every day
Never take freedom for granted
Pray peace will come our way

The family, friends and heroes
Now living with our God above
Will always be in our thoughts
And surrounded with our love
