The Wonder of Books
I love to read books. I have to admit that the biggest percentage of them are big,
fat, historical romances or time travel books, but I also enjoy other books as well.
I usually have two going.....one at work for my lunch break and one at home. Go
ahead...pick a book up and let it take you on an exploration of new worlds.
Diana Gabaldon
Diana has written a series of books that are awesome. It is called the Outlander Series
which is based in the Scottish Highlands. Claire Randall travels back in time to 1743 where
she meets Jamie MacKenzie. There is so much humor, action, love, and excitement in these
books that you don't want to ever put them down and you wish they would last forever. It
also shows the harshness of life during that time period. Take the time to look for them
and read them. I promise you won't be sorry.
Here are the titles of the books in this series:
Outlander Series: Old World Trilogy
Outlander
Dragonfly in Amber
Voyager
Outlander Series: New World Trilogy
Drums of Autumn
The Fiery Cross
A Breath of Snow and Ashes

Although I read tons of historical romance, futuristic or time travel books, a few authors stand out.
There are more that I like, but I am not very good at remembering their names. I will add more as I remember them.

Dean Koontz
Koontz writes books that are scary but with a sense of humor and romance thrown in.
Some of the books I don't care for as much as others...but the ones I do like more than make
up for it. Here are a few titles that I like the most:
Strangers
Watchers
Door to December
Intensity
Ice Bound
The Face of Fear
Sole Survivor
Lightning
"I take life seriously and I take my work seriously, but I never take myself seriously.
The human race is a glorious parade of fools and its fun to be right out in front, twirling
a baton. Viewing life with a sense of humour is not just one way to look at it - but the
only way." - Dean Koontz

Nora Roberts
Nora Roberts also writes as J.D. Robb for her futuristic thriller series featuring
Detective Eve Dallas. Nora has a ton of books published and they vary from romance
to suspense type books. She even brings a bit of magic into a few of her trilogies
which I thoroughly enjoyed. The characters in her books come to life and make you laugh
and cry with them.

Iris Johansen
Iris Johansen is an awesome author. Her books are very fast paced and full of action.
Once you pick one up, it is hard to put it down. Among other books, she has a series of
books that feature a forensic sculptor named Eve Duncan. They should be read in this order:
The Face of Deception, The Killing Game, The Search (which Eve is in...but not featured),
and Body of Lies. To see a complete listing of her books check out her website below.
